On Friday, May 15th, ASUA welcomed Upper School students, families, and staff to this year’s Spring Fling, an evening filled with music, laughter, creativity, and community connection. From the moment students arrived, the energy in the room was joyful and exciting as everyone came together to celebrate the end of the spring season in a fun and meaningful way.
This year’s theme, Festival Fair, transformed the space into a colorful celebration full of lights, games, music, and festive decorations. In the weeks leading up to the event, the dance committee worked alongside students to help bring the vision to life. Students played an active role in creating decorations, sharing ideas, and putting together a playlist filled with their favorite songs. Their involvement helped make the event feel personal, welcoming, and reflective of the vibrant ASUA community.
Throughout the evening, students danced with friends, enjoyed games and activities, and shared moments of laughter and connection. The dance floor stayed full as students celebrated together, creating memories that will last long after the night ended. Events like Spring Fling provide opportunities for students to build friendships, express themselves, and experience the joy of community in a supportive and inclusive environment.
One of the most memorable moments of the night was a special DJ performance by a student from the Transition Hub program. Sharing his love for music and helping lead the celebration was a proud and exciting moment for both students and staff. His performance brought extra energy to the evening and highlighted the many talents, interests, and strengths within the ASUA community.
The event also created meaningful opportunities for families to connect with one another. While students enjoyed the festivities, parents and caregivers had time to share experiences, exchange ideas, and discuss resources and strategies that help support their children at home and in school. These conversations reflected the strong sense of partnership that exists within the ASUA community and reminded everyone of the importance of supporting one another through shared experiences and encouragement.
Spring Fling was more than just a dance, it was a celebration of community, collaboration, and belonging. The evening reflected ASUA’s commitment to creating spaces where students and families feel connected, valued, and supported.
A special thank you goes out to the students, staff members, families, and dance committee volunteers who helped make the event such a success. Their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm made the evening truly unforgettable. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making Spring Fling a joyful celebration for the entire ASUA community.
